Coastal & Shoreline Foraging
The shoreline is one of the richest and most overlooked foraging environments. Tides, seasons, and weather shape what is available, making coastal foraging a practice rooted in timing and observation.
Foray’s shoreline foraging focuses primarily on:
- Edible and useful seaweeds
- Intertidal plants
- Understanding tides and coastal ecology
- Safe and sustainable harvesting practices
We teach how to identify common species, understand their role in marine ecosystems, and prepare them for food, drying, or storage. Emphasis is placed on safety, legality, and respect for fragile coastal habitats.
This section will develop into a resource for individual seaweed and shoreline species identification pages.
